General information

Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project is planned on the Nam Ngiep river, which the mainstream flow from the North to the South and into Mekong river, close to Pakxan, Bolikhamxay Province. The main dam of the project is 55 km to the north of the confluence of Mekong River. The basin of the main dam is about 3,700 km2. The project is planned to export electricity to Thailand via Ban Nabong transformer station and supply electricity to Laos through the Pakxan transformer station.
